Three ways we increased our volunteers by 500%
When TMC first started, we only had 10 to 12 active volunteers. These were usually family members and close friends who believed in our ambitions to help make an impact in our community. As we grew, we started to understand the importance of volunteers and how valuable they were in our success.
The three ways we increased TMC volunteers by 500% was by:
Giving people the opportunity to volunteer in their own way. When you allow people to design their own unique volunteer experience, it helps them feel more connected to the organization and helps better align their personal goals and expectations of giving back.
Respecting their time and be consistent all year round. Many of our volunteers are hard working individuals with families, careers and competing priorities. TMC makes it a point to always respond to their needs as timely as possible.
Providing an atomopshere for them to learn and grown. Producing TMC events can become very challenging and we offer the opportunity for our volunteers to be exposed to a variety of tasks that keep them safe, excited and valued.
